Barracuda on the Fly Opens Later This Year in Downtown Boston

It’s connected to Barracuda Tavern

A shuttered taqueria in Downtown Crossing will soon be replaced by a brick-and-mortar version of a food truck spinoff of a nearby restaurant. Barracuda on the Fly will take over the former Pedro’s Tacos space at 55 Bromfield St., according to Boston Restaurant Talk, and the place has connections to Barracuda Tavern, which is around the corner on Bosworth Street.

Barracuda Tavern, which opened in 2010, launched its Barracuda on the Fly food truck in 2016. Now, the truck is taking over for Pedro’s Tacos, which closed in February, and will take the form of a quick-service restaurant. The new place will serve Key West-inspired seafood, according to a post on Twitter that also indicates that there will be take-out options available, along with space for dining in.

The new Barracuda on the Fly is aiming for a September opening and will operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will be closed on the weekends.
